I think this is a true story – certainly hope so.

It seems this Cajun guy from South Louisiana died and was condemned to eternity in hell.

The devil assigned him the usual punishment…put him in the mass pit where the heat was melting others.

The devil came back sometime later surprised to find the Cajun just sitting around, not even misting, much less sweating.  "How come you’re not so much as sweating here where everyone else is screaming for relief from the heat?"

I’m always on the lookout for off the wall uses for products designed for something else entirely.

Last month I discovered that Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Oil Gel is a fabulous make-up remover.  It’s rich, yet mild and way better than the product I’ve been using.

A new home for my friends

I have some very old friends who help me make it through the day.

They are my books.  I read them for inspiration and hope.  I read them for laughs.  I read them to pass pleasant moments by the fire on a cold rainy day.

Unfortunately, my old friends have been sorely neglected. They have been  crammed under beds and stacked in corners.  They have been  collecting dust and suffering from occasional nibbles by Lucky Dawg or Rebel.

They have grown dog-eared (literally), and occasionally they  fall through the cracks into the Black Hole that seems to suck up various and sundry items around my place.

But now they have found a suitable resting place.

Well, no wonder I’ve been having problems seeing…too much sugar on my table.

Looks like there may be yet another reason to kick sugar and white flour out of your diet:  eye health.

Cutting back on processed carbs could lower your risk of advanced age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of blindness in people 60 and older.
