Broiling in Mississippi

heat-exhaustion

My friend Jill just called me from Wisconsin where she’s visiting her family and attending her 30th class reunion.

Get this.  They are having a barbeque – outside – right here in the middle of summer!

I commented that I couldn’t imagine having my class reunion outside (it’s next weekend in West Point).  We could have a barbeque without even using a grill.

She said, no.  The weather is perfect up there.  High today was predicted to reach 77!  She went out last night and got “cold.” Oh how wonderful that must be.

Meanwhile, I’ve taken to carrying an umbrella with me when I step outside to water my hydrangas. Today the highs are above 100 degrees and the entire population is wilting – including my hydrangas.
