Doing my part for the economy

I’ve been out of pocket for a few days noshing my way through Nashville. The food in the city rivals that of New Orleans’ which I’ve always considered the home of the best cuisine in the world. I had to come home when I could no longer zip my favorite jeans.

One of my dreams came true while visiting the city. I purchased my very own Le Creuset (casserole dish) which has been on my wish list for as long as I can remember. I probably wouldn’t have purchased the ridiculously expensive cooking vessel except my son is in the restaurant business in Nashville, and he got a great discount at the Le Creuset store.

Of course, I was also doing my patriotic duty to boost the economy by spending my part of the “stimulous package.” I haven’t received the check yet, but I’m assured that it’s in the mail. ( I guess I also helped the French economy since the cookware is made there.)

  1. Emily, I enjoyed reading about you recent trip to Nashville and all the good food you had. My husband and I were a bit jealous. We have made many trips to the Music City to visit our daughter. She is a vegetarian. Needless to say all of the places you went to eat, with the exception of Whole Foods (she calls Whole Pay Check), we have not gotten to try. Next trip we will try to sneak out to one of the meaty eats! Thanks for your articles!
