It’s just been brought to my attention that today is “Eat What You Want Day.”
OH BOY. I had no idea there was such a day, but believe me, May 11 will always hold a special place in my heart. This will be like Thanksgiving, Christmas and Halloween all rolled into one – food wise.
Here’s what I would do if I allowed myself to get into the spirit of this day. For breakfast, I would have two Snickers Bars, melted in the microwave and served over a bowl of Reese’s Peanut Butter Ice Cream
Mid-morning snack would be a full bag of Zaps – the new Crawfish flavor, maybe served with a stuffed artichoke.
Lunch will be one of those giant burgers from Mugshots, DON’T hold the fries. Dinner… I’m not sure, but I will give it lots of thought, but I figure I’ll be too ill to eat anything else.
Today, you can set aside your dietary “No-No” list. Today, you can splurge. Tomorrow, it’s back to restraint.
It is important to note that today is not intended to eat as much as you want. Rather, the goal is to eat something you otherwise wouldn’t have. If you are watching carbs or calories, simply keep within your limits by eating just a small amount of that favorite treat. Yeah, right. That hasn’t worked for me up to now. Being an all or nothing person, this day could send me into a binge which could last the remainder of 2012.
Maybe I better go back to bed and forget about “Eat What You Want Day.”
