Fail proof system for roasting beef


I have long subscribed to the Gracie Allen method of gourmet cooking.

She was the original deluded diva and I loved her recipe for Roast Beef. I frequently incorporate her system into my cooking with one exception – I know it’s time to take out the roast when my oven looks like a wood burning fire place!

She was also quoted regarding her baked cookies – “This recipe is certainly silly.  It says to separate two eggs, but it doesn’t say how far to separate them!”

Here’s the roast beef recipe although it’s a bit pricey.


Gracie Allen’s Classic Recipe for Roast  Beef

1 large Roast of beef
1 small Roast of  beef
Take the two roasts and put them in the  oven.

When the little one burns, the  big one is done.
