If you’re having friends over today to celebrate the Fourth of July, wow them with a little “table panache.”
You can fashion a two-tiered edible centerpiece with stuff from around the house. To make one like the one pictured here, fill a pilsner glass with cherry tomatoes.
If don’t have a pilsner, any glass will do. Cover the mouth of the glass with clear tape so the fruit doesn’t fall out.
Flip the pilsner upside down and position it on a charger. Top with a dinner plate and secure both with clear tape. Fill a cereal bowl with veggies and place
atop the dinner plate. Arrange other vegetables around the bowl and at the base of the pilsner.
They can provide some helium balloons in red, white and blue. Just plunk them in a color coordinated gift bag and place them around your house or garden for instant gratification.
At the end of the day you can release them into the sky in honor of your country.
You can also add small flags from the dollar store to your window boxes and flower beds to welcome your guests (see below).
