The photos above were sent to me by a friend. They were posted by a woman named Amanda who apparently survived her hideous crash which occurred while texting.
The University of North Texas Health Science Center has looked at traffic data from the Fatality Accident Reporting System. After some hefty number crunching it has come to the conclusion that texting while driving is responsible for accidents that claimed 16,141 lives during the period of 2001 – 2007.
I don’t think you need me to tell you that this is an alarmingly large number has probably mushroomed during the last three years with more and more people selecting “texting” as their favorite form of communication.
The message: You can drink and text. Be my guest. But don’t ever drive and text.
