No one in my family cares for sweet potatoes very much. But for the sake of tradition we keep serving them year after year and end up feeding them to the garbage disposal. Does anyone out there have a new way to cook sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving? I’d love a new idea. Anything but the ole “boil to death and smother in brown sugar and butter?” Been there, done that. And in my humble opinion, marshmallows should be banned from the Thanksgiving table. Wonder who started that tradition? The other thing my family never touches is cranberry sauce – maybe because they always come out of a can and have that tale-tell ridge on the slices. New ideas would be greatly appreciated. Last year I did a jalapeno-cranberry relish and I saw one member of my family picking out all the jalapenos.
