My friend, Betty Lynn, sent me a message I’m sure was forwarded to thousands of people, but it touched me in a way that brought a smile to my face.
Of course, I’ve edited it to reflect my place in time and my memories of growing up in Small Town, America.
*I lived in a house with two bedrooms, one bathroom and one car on the street.
*I had a father and mother and never knew anyone who had a d-i-v-o-r-c-e. No joke. No one in my family did that kind of thing. I would become the first. The outcast.
*We had a lawn mower that didn’t run on gas.
*We had one phone on the wall and when you weren’t home and missed a call, you weren’t expected to respond. Whew.
*We had one TV set, and maybe two channels, so television was not very important.
*The Saints had not won the Super Bowl, and I had not become the HAPPIEST WOMAN ON EARTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
