At 5 p.m. on the dot, the Carillions in the tower at the Chapel of Memories at Mississippi State belt out a seasonal tune that may be heard throughout Starkville. It’s always a beautiful punctuation to the day.
Since the carillons are located practically in my back door, I have a sort of front row seat.
It has become a habit to rush home by 5 p.m. and sit on my back porch and enjoy the sounds of the season. Imagine my surprise when they began playing “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” just now.
I guess the Carillion programmer fell asleep at the switch board. I was hoping for something like “The Easter Parade.” Oh well. The weather has everyone confused.
