Peep treat for Easter

Are you looking for something to make your Easter brunch memorable.  I can’t think of anything better – especially for the young at heart – than mixing up a batch of “Peep Fondue.”

You remember Peeps, right?  Those Easter marshmallow treats that were among my first memories of the wonderful world of candy.  They were first introduced to the nation in 1954 and new shapes were added each decade to celebrate Halloween and Christmas.

Paula Deen’s Classic Chocolate Fondue

1 cup whipping cream
8 ounces premium chocolate, chopped
2 teaspoons orange liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)

Over low flame, heat cream until warm, but do not bring to a boil. Pour in chocolate while stirring continuously. Mixture will become smooth. Stir in liqueur and transfer to a fondue pot. Dip with Peeps and strawberries and let your guests serve themselves.
