Oh, the joys of home ownership. Your little piece of heaven can become a big piece of hell when you’re not paying attention.
This afternoon, we got the rain I’ve been dancing for. It was a hard, soaking rain and my hydrangas began smiling again. The garden greened up and I thought all was well with the world.
I came in to check my e-mail and heard a menacing drip, drip, drip directly above my head. I looked up and saw the most hideous wet spot in the shape of a heart – either that or a very skinny butt. What do you think? See below.
I panicked. I had no idea who to call or what to do.
Naturally, I called Phil O’Nan, the man who can fix anything and who is so calm that he is like a drug. He should come with a prescription.
He told me to take a deep breath.
“No problem, Emily. Not to worry, I’ll be there in the morning and we’ll get this thing fixed.”
In the meantime, I’m trying to look at that stain and get some kind of Karmic message. I bet it’s a sign that love is coming my way.
