Sometimes it takes a man and tools to cut the cake

cake 003

My son William requested an ice cream cake from Coldstone Creamery for his birthday.  I followed instructions and took the cake out 15 minutes before I was planning to serve. By then, the ice cream on the outside was beginning to melt so I began to carve.   I carved and pounded but it remained hard as a glacier.

William came in the kitchen to see what was taking so long.  Our guests started getting a little nervous when he went to my tool box and withdrew a hammer and chisel to give me a hand to cut the cake.  They began worrying about their teeth, I expect.
