Twinkie Love Potion #75
I stumbled across this recipe while searching for something novel to serve a friend who is celebrating a birthday this week.
By novel, that’s another way of saying I wanted a dish that doesn’t take more than five minutes, doesn’t require turning on the oven and something guaranteed to put a smile on the faces of my guests.
I was searching for a recipe similar to the Ding Dong cake my friends served me for my birthday back in May. Any ideas?
During my search I was intrigued by something called “Twinkie Love Potion #75″ and wondered if that could be adapted to my project. Not really, but this sounds pretty good and what could be better for a steamy July night. No cooking, two minutes of total preparation, cool and refreshing.
Ingredients
2 Hostess Twinkies
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup strawberries
Directions:
Break Twinkies into four pieces and drop in blender.
Add ice cream and strawberries and blend until smooth. Pour into a
tall glass and garnish with a strawberry on the rim.
I did locate a recipe for a “Redneck Wedding Cake” which is pictured above. Now I take serious offense at that. Every self respecting Redneck knows you gotta “ice” those Twinkies and Ding Dongs.
