I received an advertising flyer yesterday about a new treadmill that enables you to get your walking done while you work.
It probably wouldn’t be a good thing for me since I have a hard time chewing gum and walking at the same time.
But the brochure included a testimonial by Texas patent attorney Ross Robinson who said he walks about six out of eight hours everyday on his “TreadDesk.” He does everything his job requires him to while he’s walking.
It’s helped him lose 25 pounds in about two months.
“I’ve got three young kids, family activities, commute, long work days as a lawyer, so I thought why can’t I just do two at the same time,” Robinson said.
“When I looked into the research, they showed that depending upon your weight, you can burn 100 to 200 calories an hour just walking at a slow pace,” he said.
Oh wow. That means you could eat 4 Reese’s Peanut Butter cups while working and walking and not gain an ounce.
I’m waiting for someone to come out with a dining room table treadmill – where the entire family can gather for a meal and walk and talk while eating macaroni and cheese guilt-free! The possibilities are endless.
