What to buy in March

With inflation running amuck, saving money is high on everyone’s list.  I try to keep up with the best times of the year to purchase certain necessities.

This a.m. I ran across the following tips on good buys for the month of March (Source:  TipHero.com.)

China and Flatware
I need more of this category than a sore thumb, but someone out there may be contemplating new dishware. Now that we are right in between Christmas and wedding season, you should be able to score deals on nice china and flatware during the market lull.
Frozen Food
Since March is officially National Frozen Food Month, you should be able to find coupons and special promotions all over the place. So stock up your freezer before inflation really starts to take effect. I’m about to swear off fresh vegetables because I can consume them before they go bad, and who knows how long they have been in transit anyway!  I’ll wait until our Farmer’s Market reopens.
Garden Supplies
Selection will be wonderful and prices will still be low before those nice spring days have really begun to emerge. Plan ahead and head in to your local greenhouses in March.  Or better yet, attend the Everything Garden Expo in Starkville this weekend!
Perfume
Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day are big holidays for perfume sales. Since we’re right in the middle lull, you should be able to find great clearance sales now while stores try to make room for new stock.
Winter Coats, Sporting Goods and Accessories
Stores should be selling these at deeply discounted prices while they make room for the spring inventory. Stock up on coats, gloves, scarves (and even ski gear and snowboards) this month while selection is still relatively good and prices are low.
