What will be, will be

It’s enough to drive you crazy if you let it.

The uncertainty of the long term effects of the nuclear melt down in Japan; the rising cost of fuel – both for our bodies and our automobiles; and yesterday’s melt down on Wall Street.

present

What’s a body to do?  Rather than crawling back in bed and pulling the covers over our heads, we have to step out in faith that all will be well.

Obsessing about the future is just as neurotic as obsessing about the past.  It’s simply another way the ego robs us of the joy of living by directing our attention away from the present.  Living in the future is a way of avoiding life right now.

We can release our future concerns by living fully in the present, knowing that as we do, the future will take care of itself.

“God so clothed the lilies of the field, surely He will take care of us,” says Marianne Williamson, an author and modern-day mystic whose works always boost my attitude.

“When I was younger, I wanted to be older.  When I got older, I wanted to be younger.

When I was living in one place I wanted to live in another, and when I was doing one thing I wanted to be doing something else,” says Williamson.

Each day, life offers us challenges.  If we focus on the present and show up for it completely, any moment can have its blessings and the future will unfold in the direction of every great good.
