As I cleaned out a bookcase yesterday, I ran across a book I purchased in 2002 entitled “Simple Steps: 10 Weeks to Getting Control of your Life.” I’m a sucker for self-help books.
I left all the books in a pile on the floor and climbed into my easy chair to read the entire book. It was very inspirational and I’m launching the steps today. Basically there is a to-do list for every day of the week for 10 weeks.
At the end of that time I should be in complete control of my environment. Boy, I can’t wait!
Here is what I have to do today:
*Drink eight cups of water;
*Clear out one drawer/cabinet/closet space (I guess I’ll finish the bookcase);
*Keep a daily food journal;
*Do some isometric exercises every time I stop at a traffic light;
That sounds easy enough.
Each week you add a few more simple steps until “Voila!”, after you reach Week 10, you have gained control of your life, home, health, and spirit. I hope the system works.
It was devised by three women in a small town in Connecticut who were having a hard time dealing with their daily lives. They put it all down on paper, went on Oprah, and made a bundle of money. I paid $12.95 for their book, but it was a bargain – IF it works.
