Brownie cobbler for your Valentine

valentine

Since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, why not make a special dessert for your favorite Valentine.

I suggest Olivia’s Brownie Cobbler which sounds perfect to  this chocolate lover’s way of thinking.

I even have a heart shaped pan which will make the perfect cooking vessel:

brownie Olivia’a Brownie Cobbler

2 c. butter

10 oz. chocolate chips (semisweet)

8 eggs

4 cups sugar

1 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

1 2/3 cups all purpose flour

2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans

Preheat oven to 350.  Melt butter and chocolate chips together in Dutch oven.  After melted, remove from heat and add one egg at a time, whisking well between each.  Add sugar, salt, vanilla, flour and nuts.  Stir well and put in a 9 x 13 glass dish.  Bake for about 40 minutes.  DO NOT OVER BAKE.  I would check after 30 minutes.  Serve topped with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.  Serves 20-24.

Tip:  a 9 x 16 dish works well, too.

  1. Can you ask Olivia if 4 cups of sugar is right. That seems like an awful lot for a 9 x 13 dish. If so, just me know. Thanks, Denise

Olivia’s response Yes….4 c sugar! It is goooood!
