Forever Bulldogs

Kermit 002

We visited with dear old friends today and relived good times from days gone by – way by.

Kermit Davis, who many will remember as Mississippi State University’s head basketball coach from 1970-77, is living in Tupelo these days with his beautiful wife Nancy and Bogart, a ferocious English bulldog.

Look at Bogie’s under bite.  Very scary, but he was as docile as a teddy bear.

Kermit was named SEC Coach of the Year in his debut season in 1970-71 and went on to become a SEC legend.

He also played basketball as a student at State in the 1950s -even tried his hand at baseball.  They don’t make ‘em like him anymore.

A nicer man you will never meet.  I cannot imagine him yelling at a game referee, but I bet he did if it was called for.

Kermit is battling melanoma, but it hasn’t slowed him down or dampened his irrepressible positive attitude or his unwavering spirit.  We’re puling for you, coach!

  1. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation however I to find this topic to be really one thing which
I believe I would never understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely huge for me.
I am looking ahead on your next post, I will try to get the
    hang of it!
