Fun without me? I think so.

ultimate best marganitas and doug

I never dreamed the girls of West Point High School Class of 65 would have fun on the road without me.  Well, I just heard that they did today and I’m pretty ticked off.

We headed out on a road adventure last Thursday and were making new memories by the baskets full when I was distracted by one of those Louisiana guys.  In the meantime, they picked up a guy from Ocean Springs who  turned out to be my first cousin. Small world, isn’t it?

Above:Norma, Marie, LC, Beth and Hazel are pictured with Doug McCall, who was signing his new book at an Arts Festival on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.)

convention A highlight of our trip  (Beside splitting our sides watching the movie “Last  Vegas) was a trip to the Gulf Coast Visitors Bureau and seeing a powerful movie on Hurricane Katrina.

Notice how our road  trips are growing closer together as we mature?  The good news is that we’re still crazy after all these years, and I’m trying to figure out whose clothes I’m wearing.

I’m home and they are still down there having the time of their lives.  Was the guy from Louisiana worth missing out on all this fun?  I’ll let you know.

  1. As always, fun with great friends! Don’t unpack, we got an invitation for another road trip on our way home! It was great finally meeting Doug.

  2. BUT YALL HAD FUN WITHOUT ME TOO…..NO FAIR…I PROMISE TO BE THERE NEXT TIME………..LOOKING GOOD GIRLS……

  3. Gald y”all saw the film on Katrina. You have to see it to realize the depth of destruction. That day (Aug 29 2005) and the days following were the some of the hardest of my life.
