Great day to be a Mississippian

Several Texas friends visited this weekend while attending the Mississippi State – Texas A & M football game.  How sweet it was!

They were all very good sports – especially Kim (center) and her husband David who are rabid Aggies. At right my fellow West Pointer Emily Bedford Schepens and her husband Jim  and classmate Al Sage and Tinker Lautar savored the day of conquest together.  I would put right up there with the end of prohibition!. Best of all, the out of staters get to return to Texas and Tennessee supremely proud to be native Mississippians and MSU or Ole Miss alums.

As you might imagine, it was a wild time in Mississippi last night as we celebrated two great wins. We all came home after the A & M game to watch the Rebels defeat the Tide in my tiny sitting room – squashed in like sardines since I canceled cable and haven’t installed an antenna  on my living room TV.  Made it all the more fun and listen, folks:  Our Day, Week, Month and Year were made complete within the span of the six hours it took to play both games.

Oh, and I am asking Leanne Sage if I can rent Al for at least one weekend a year because he fixed everything around the house  including an aging toilet flapper while explaining in detail the intricacies of modern plumbing to which I smiled politely but watched it float a mile above my newly blond head.
