Lisa’s Doo Doo dip is perfect easy treat

Don’t let the name put you off.  This stuff is addictive.

One of my fondest memories of my time at the Starkville Daily News was when I worked with Lisa McReynolds. We frequently put on “pot luck” lunches especially around holidays or when a co-worker was moving on.

Her standard contribution was what we came to refer to fondly as “Doo Doo Dip.” May not sound particularly appetizing, but it was just delicious and so easy to make a husband could even throw it together. She would bring her big ole crock pot in and begin dumping in the ingredients about an hour before the scheduled lunch time.

The crock pot would be set up in a central location and everyone who passed grabbed a Frito and gave it a swipe.

Lisa’s Doo Doo Dip

1 can chili without beans

1 can chili with beans

1 8-ounce block of cream cheese

1 block of Velveeta cheese

Mix all together and let simmer in the crock pot for hours, or until it miraculously disappears. She would sometimes triple the recipe to fill up the crock pot. She said you can’t do this wrong…you can add more or less of any ingredients to suit your individual tastes.
