Looking for a good murder mystery?

michaelHave I got one for you! And best of all the author is a well loved professor at Mississippi State University whose classes are so popular, it’s difficult to enroll in one.

The co-director of MSU’s creative writing program, Michael Kardos has three books to his credit, but my book club is certain the latest – “Before He Finds Her” – will be the novel that propels him into the realm of a John Grisham or Jeffrey Deaver.

Michael grew up on the Jersey Shore and received a degree in music from Princeton University, and played the drums professionally

ksrdfosfor a number of years. He has an M.F.A. in fiction from The Ohio State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri.. He was named by Library Journal as a Big Breakout Author for February 2015 when the book was released.

Michael met with our book club this week (He is pictured at right with Ginger Deweese and Pat Colwick.  We all kind of developed a crush on this delightful man.  The jacket cover contains a warning from internationally acclaimed author Jeffrey Deaver which says “Read the first page and kiss the next 24 hours good bye.”  I know I didn’t close the book until I had read it from cover to cover.  I can’t wait for his next book to be out.   It is available on Amazon and bookstores everywhere.

  1. Oh thanks, Emily. I”m going out to look for the book today. I’m ALWAYS looking for something good to read… and usually have 2-3 going at the same time, but right now, I have NOTHING. Just returned from Ireland with 3 friends…. where we rented an SUV and drove 900 miles, staying at B & B’s along the way…. all the way from County Cork up to County Donegal (all along the west coast). Wish you and your West Point buddies would come here for a visit. Shelby, here in Chattanooga

  2. Really enjoyed book club. Delicious food and great guest author…he was delicious too! Thanks Emily.

  3. I found some used ones, in good condition, at http://www.half.com for less than $10.00. I get most of my paperbacks from here for $.75 plus shipping. They have his earlier books for $.75. Just put his name in the search block and they will come up.
