Not to get all woo-woo on you, but I find myself in such a copasetic state, I’m practically catatonic. As a recovering anxiety driven “awfulizer” who rushes from one place to another in a perpetual “tizzy”, you might wonder how I’ve found this new way of moving through my day in complete peace and serenity.
I’m in day four of an online course entitled “Meditation 101” and its been a fascinating and mind-expanding experience. The information above is how I signed on. It may be to late to still get in on the action, but if you have an interest if wouldn’t hurt to try.
This course has helped me see that all those nagging inevitabilities – death and taxes, in-laws, etc.– are a part of life and need not be constant spoilers in our quest to find joy and peace. Having said that, I realize my rose-colored mental state is subject to implosion should I stump my toe or drop an egg on the floor – stilly things like that. But in Meditation 101, I’ve learned what to do about it.
This virtual conference has featured more than 30+ world-class experts ranging on topics from the neuroscience of meditation, mindfulness based stress-reduction, Positive Psychology, Transcendental Meditation, and the Mind-Body connection. For me it has demystified the whole process of meditation. The guided medication this morning was especially mind blowing. I swear I felt like I was levitating. The experience was better than sipping from a bottle of Screaming Eagle Cabernet which retails for $2,623. Of course I’m only guessing since that is my entire food budget for a year.
