I’ve ranted before about my problem with leaky coffee makers, but this morning I lost it. We can send men to the moon, so why can’t manufacturers solve this problem once and for all.
Without warning, the water broke on my spiffy Melitta coffee maker – one I bought just last year. And I didn’t even know she was pregnant! It happened two hours before my two cousins from Jackson were coming for a visit and water went all over the floor. In a tizzy, I raced over to Fred’s and picked up a Mr. Coffee – didn’t have any choice really – no time to get to Wal-Mart or Lowe’s.
Well, apparently Mr. Coffee has prostate problems. He leaks constantly. My white counter top has turned a murky shade of yellow, he has dribbled so much. I’m sick of it. I called the urologist but he doesn’t treat coffee makers. So we’re divorcing immediately. He can run off to Melitta for all I care.
Does anyone know where I can buy an old percolator like my mother had. I may try to browse some garage sales and see if I can pick one up.
It’s either that or I’m going back to using instant coffee.
I do love my morning coffee, but it’s beginning to ruin my day before it’s even begun. If anyone has found a solution to this, I would love to hear about it!
Emily, I gave up on Mr. Coffee years ago and switched to a Farberware, superfast, fully automatic percolator like the one pictured above. It makes great coffee and keeps it hot. I purchased my last one at Linen ‘N Things. Wal-Mart may carry them, too.
You have the G.E. perculator pictured that my daddy sold in his store. I know, cause I have one exactly like it.
Good luck finding a good coffee maker.

Check out this site for a variety of electric percolators.
Hey, Emily, google Farberware percolator and you can order one online just like in the picture. Good luck.
Thanks to all – Faberware wins the poll – I’m off to find one!
