\We are all customers in the Bank of Time.
Every morning it credits us with 86,400 seconds. Every night it charges off as a loss whatever reminder you have failed to invest to a good purpose.
Makes you rethink a minute, doesn’t it? And an hour makes you feel pretty flush. Your account in the Bank of Time carries no balance-well, except
during the daytime hours when you glance at your watch and realize how much time remains until you can “call it a day.”
The Bank of Time allows no overdrafts though many of us live as though it does. Each day it deposits the same amount in your account and each night you burn the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits on something that offers satisfaction, you lose. There is no going back. No loans, No drawing against future deposits.
You’re making withdrawals right this second. Hope you’re spending them on something either fun, relaxing, productive or helpful. I’m feeling a little conflicted because over the past three days I watched all 12 episodes of “”House of Cards” – sat there glued to the television set – feeling horrified and fascinated at the same time. If you’ve seen this show you understand. This Netflix series starring Kevin Spacey takes entertainment to a whole new level which I cannot begin to identify.
I’m just not sure it was the best use of my account at the Bank of Time.
