I almost fell asleep in mass this a.m – on a cookie high I guess. I must tell you about our cookie swap yesterday – it will become a tradition.
Marie brought her white trash nibbles (very apropos since we do get kind of trashy when we get together) and Norma brought her special cranberry jam which went great with Olivia’s scones. Betty Lynn, whom we fondly call “Swamp Daddy” (can’t tell you why because I don’t remember why) brought flour-less chocolate chip cookies (she’s sending the recipe) and Barton brought her 100 proof rum balls (she’s sending the bottle).
Ruthie made crockpot chocolate candy (my personal favorite) and Miss Wilma brought rosemary biscuits. Oh man.
Hooker, what did you bring? Whatever, I ate it and loved it. My jeans are a testament to how much I enjoyed it. Me, I made Paula Deen’s cheesecake bars. Hmmm – I’m bagging up all the leftovers and taking them down to the police department. When you’re white trash, you’ve got to stay on the good side of those guys.
